Supported Languages

FastComments supports a number of languages, across different locales.

Right-to-Left Languages

Arabic (ar) and Hebrew (he) are right-to-left languages. When one of these locales is used, FastComments lays out the comment widget, emails, and the dashboard from right to left. No extra configuration is needed.

Each comment and username follows the direction of its own text. An English comment reads left-to-right on an Arabic page, and an Arabic comment reads right-to-left on an English page.

Code snippets always read left-to-right.

Plural Forms

Text that includes a count, like "3 comments", uses the correct plural form for each language. For example, Arabic has separate forms for one, two, a few, and many, and Russian and Polish have separate forms for a few and many.

All FastComments products that are embeddable in your application or website, are localized.

All emails are fully localized. The locale used to render the emails we send are based on the last locale the user used when they last logged in or commented with the commenting widget.

The admin and user dashboard is localized. Each user can pick their preferred language on their account details page.
